Unexpected Angular Dependence in ZnTe Electro-Optic Sampling

Abstract

Electro-Optic (EO) sampling of infrared and THz fields produced by a free-electron laser (PEL) was performed with a ZnTe crystal probed by a femtosecond Ti:sapphire laser. The collinear FEL field and probe laser pulses were incident on the (110) face of a 0.5 mm thick crystal.
