Abstract

Transitions of the B-X system of molecular iodine are widely used for absolute stabilization of lasers and realization of stepwise tunable secondary frequency standards [1], When pumped with suitable lasers, also frequency stable Raman lasers can be operated over a wide spectral range. Here investigations on Iodine Raman lasers pumped by a frequency doubled diode pumped monolithic Nd:YAG laser will be reported.
