Abstract

Development of the solid state laser system for sodium-layer laser-guide-star experiments requires the operation at precise wavelength 589.2 (vacuum) that corresponds to the optical scattering in sodium layer at 32P1/2 → 32S1/2 transition. In this report the possibility to obtain this wavelength by the SRS of the second harmonic of Nd3+:GGG laser in new barium tungstate Raman crystal is demonstrated.
