Abstract

Infrared pumped upconversion lasers in the visible wavelengths range are of great interest. So far green Erbium upconversion lasers, Ytterbium co-doped Erbium lasers, red Praseodymium co-doped Erbium lasers and many others have been demonstrated. The most promising candidate for realisation of an IR pumped upconversion laser in the blue wave-length range is the 1G43H6 transition in Thulium Blue Tm lasers have been realised, but they had to be pumped with Nd·YAG, Dye or Ti Sapphire lasers [1-3].
