Abstract

Increasing the output power of slab lasers favors slabs with high aspect ratios in order to maintain a large cooled surface area. We present a linear phased array resonator that allows extraction from large aspect ratio apertures. Figure 1 shows a schematic of the resonator. It uses a micro-lens array to generate an array of parallel beams within the slab volume. These beams are brought to a common focal point by a large lens. The high reflector is patterned with a regular grid of gold lines.
