Abstract

Efficiency of SHG at an incident intensity of I ≤ 1012 W/cm2 was investigated. This intensity level is achieved at the output of the high peak power MBI Ti:Sa laser facility direct in the recompressed beam. Thin (0.5-2 mm), large aperture (70 mm diameter) KDP crystals was used in experiments. Highly efficient (> 40%) conversion of 50 femtosecond Ti:Sa laser pulses to the second harmonics is shown.
