Optical trapping forces on the microsphere in focused laser beam by corrected model of ray optics regime

Abstract

Corrected ray optics model is proposed to calculate more accurately the forces on the microsphere in focused laser beam. We calculate the transverse trapping forces by the model and compared them with those by the existing models [1] and the experimental results, as shown in Fig. 1. The calculated forces by the corrected ray optics model are in better agreement with the experimental results than by the existing models.
