Abstract

Different models have been developed up to now to describe qualitatively and quantitatively the processes of the non-radiative relaxation of the electron excitation energy and interaction between impurity ion and crystal lattice ions. Very often the non-adiabatic operator is chosen as the reason of the non-radiative transitions (NRT). It should be pointed out here that the matrix element of the non-adiabatic operator is supposed to be temperature independent. The temperature dependence of the NRT probability is explained by temperature dependence of the vibronic wave functions. In the present paper we analyze the temperature dependence of the matrix element of non-adiabatic operator.
