Abstract

Due to extraordinary stability, efficiency and simplicity, all-solid-state passively mode-locked laser systems are of special interest of users. Increasing power of pump lasers and improving of methods of mode locking result in shortening of generated pulses as well as increasing of average power of laser pulses and repetition rate. Meanwhile, for most investigations of non-linear phenomena, high peak power is important and high average power usually causes undesirable thermal phenomena. Therefore, in some cases, a laser with relatively low repetition rate (~ 1 kHz) and pulse energy of several tens or hundreds µJ is the optimum choice. We present here diode-pumped, FM mode-locked Nd:YAG laser featuring pulse amplification in resonator.
