Abstract

We study a model of a degenerate optical parametric oscillator (DOPO) in the presence of diffraction. For positive detunings, two stable, equivalent, spatially-homogeneous solutions may be connected by domain walls [1]. Domain walls correspond to lines of zero intensity in the output profile of the signal field and are stable in one transverse dimension while they tend to disappear in two transverse dimensions due to curvature effects [2].
