Effect of spectrum filtering on the performances of Quantum-Dash mode-locked lasers emitting at 1.55 μm

Abstract

After specific spectrum filtering, 3.5 ps pulses at ~40 GHz are demonstrated using one-section self pulsating quantum dash mode locked lasers emitting at 1.55 μm. A 17dB extinction ratio is evidenced.
