A new reconstruction algorithm for in-line digital holography

Abstract

Digital holography (DH) is a technique where the interference pattern is recorded using a discrete imaging device such as a CCD or CMOS, and the object wave front is reconstructed using numerical algorithms. In the past decade, DH techniques have been widely applied in many fields such as shape measurement, deformation measurement, particles size and velocity measurement, microscopy, and information security [1]. In the meantime, various reconstruction algorithms have been proposed for off-line and in-line set-ups [1]. Recently, a reconstruction algorithm from two intensity measurements was proposed [2], However, this algorithm is just suitable for the case that the object wave is weak compared with the reference by virtue of an approximation in reconstruction. In this report, we introduce an improvement to overcome this weakness.
