Abstract

One of the major objectives in the field of Quantum Information is the realization of a memory for the quantum states of the light. Our group is involved in such a quest, and plans to transfer the fluctuations of a squeezed vacuum state of light into the components of the collective spin of a cloud of Cs atoms (D2 line at 852 nm) trapped into a Magneto-Optical Trap1.
