Abstract
Interaction of laser pulses with the electrons of an accelerator leads to various nonlinear effects, which can be used for frequency conversion. Moreover, an electron bunch, though being a particular “material”, can display similar behaviors (on a phenomenological point of view) than those observed in nonlinear crystals, allowing some processes and techniques to be transfered.
