Abstract

Raman fiber lasers (RFLs) are attractive light sources providing almost any wavelength in the near infrared region that may be also tunable. Such unique features result in many applications, most of all in telecom. Recently, frequency doubled RFL generating up to 3 W at 589 mn has been developed [1] that considerably extends the range of RFL applications. Combination of frequency tuning and doubling in RFLs may lead to a replacement of complex and difficult in maintaining tunable dye and Ti:Sa lasers generating in yellow-red spectral range. Different approaches have been implemented to develop all-fiber tunable RFL (TRFL). However, up to date either the RFL has a small tuning range or its scheme is complicated or the RFL comprises bulk elements. In the present paper we report on the all-fiber widely tunable high efficient RFL with controlled output spectrum that is applicable for further frequency doubling.
