Abstract

DFB fiber lasers are promising light sources for applications in optical communications, sensors, spectroscopy, and interferometry. DFB fiber laser consists of a uniform fiber Bragg grating (FBG) written in an active medium. A π-phase shift is usually induced in the grating to obtain single-frequency lasing.
