Reversal of asymmetry of the resonance in the reflectivity of 2-D photonic crystals

Abstract

The measured angle-dependent reflectivity of a 2-D photonic crystal shows sharp resonant features on top of an oscillating background. The photonic crystal consists of a square lattice of holes with lattice constant a = 300 nm and hole radius r = 100 nm. The depth of the holes is ~ 600 nm. The resonance and its asymmetry change with the angle of incidence as shown in fig. 1(a).
