The Exawatt Laser: From Relativistic to Ultra Relativistic Optics

Abstract

We will describe a laser system that will produce peak power at the exawatt 1018W/cm2 level. It will usher in a new regime in optics: the ultra-relativistic regime, that will succeed to the already successful regime of relativistic optics.
