Abstract
Stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is a traditional method for laser frequency conversion. Last time much attention is paid to Raman conversion in crystal mediums, because it opens new perspectives for development of solid-state laser systems. Raman conversion of femtosecond pulses faces difficulties connected with transient conditions and competition with other nonlinear effects [1,2]. To our knowledge femtosecond Raman amplification was investigated only in hydrogen [3]. In this report we present the results on investigation of the spectral characteristics of Raman amplification at femtosecond pumping in KGW crystal.
