Abstract

Ultrashort pulsed light sources in the mid-IR are sought for numerous different fields: Strong field physics demands high repetition-rate few-cycle pulses with stable carrier envelope phase (CEP), and generating such pulses in the mid-IR should result in shorter attosecond pulses [1], while broad bandwidth mid-IR pulses cover many vibrational transitions in important molecules, opening a wide range of spectroscopic applications.
