Abstract
Integrated optics is a rapidly developing field that demonstrated a remarkable progress in the last decade. Integrated optical devices are of great interest for the realization of various optical functions in one chip. 1.54 μm is a standard telecommunication wavelength due to the presence of sensitive room-temperature detectors and the high transmission of silicate fibers in this spectral region. This wavelength is corresponding to the4I13/2→4I15/2 transitions of erbium in various host materials.
