Abstract

Simple, micro-sized, and very-wide spectral covering optically-pumped DFB dye lasers were studied for easy and integrable laser applications. Solid-state waveguide film with polymeric matrix was adopted, and we demonstrated wide-spectral coverage of 400~1100nm[l], low threshold energy [2], highly conversion efficiency more than 10%[3], long lifetime[2], and multiple wavelength array[5]. We proposed integration of the lasers on a plastic functional-device, such as biological analyzing chips, sensors, medical diagnostic chips, and micro flowcytometry chips by [6] by developing novel fabrication scheme termed ‘Print-like-fabrication’.
