Abstract

There exist efficient algorithms (such as for instance the Gerchberg-Saxton algorithm [1]) to calculate a phase hologram that will construct a desired intensity distribution in a given plane when displayed as a gray-value pattern on a spatial light modulator (SLM). The process, however, typically scrambles the phase.
