High Power, Diode Side Pumped Er:YAG Lasers

Abstract

Er:YAG laser systems are of particular interest for soft and hard tissue applications because their 2.9 µm emitting wavelength coincide with a main water absorption line. Er:YAG laser are typically lamp pumped although diode pumping have the potential of significantly increase efficiency, improving beam quality, allowing miniaturization of the device and reducing maintenance requirements.
