Abstract

The development of integrated photonic circuits requires all-optical elements for high-speed processing of light signals. An all-optical diode is one of such indispensable elements [1]. Similar to electronic diodes, it can block the flow of light in one direction, while allowing propagation in the opposite direction, thus reducing problems caused by unwanted reflections or interference effects.
