Abstract

High brightness diode pump source is becoming a matter of concern for developing high power fiber laser [1]. It is crucial to convert the high power emission but low brightness laser diode array source into a kind of high brightness source and maintain the same power level. Complex beam-shaping methods for each single emitter was used in the past [2,3]. In order to increase the efficiency and compactness, grating coupling mechanism is a promising way to achieve the high brightness pumping. In this paper, we demonstrate a high efficiency and high power fiber laser through the diode array pump by using grating coupler.
