Abstract

The four-wave mixing (FWM) effect has been studied in various materials and situations because of its use in applications such as wavelength conversion, parametric mixing and comb generation [1,2]. A critical part of achieving efficient four-wave mixing is extending the interaction length of the nonlinear effect in the given material. In resonating structures a practical way of doing it is to maximise the amount of round trips the light makes by pumping the input light at wavelengths matching the longitudinal modes of the resonator cavity [3,4].
