Abstract
SWCNTs are rich of interesting electrical and optical properties. It is possible to shift spectral absorption with diameter and chirality of single carbon nanotube [1]. This feature provides possibility to attain broadband absorption in the near-infrared range using natural mixtures of SWCNTs. Of particular interest are SWNT-based devices suitable for mode-locking of ultrafast laser. Fully integrated SWCNT saturable absorber has great potencial for commercial applications and even replace commonly used SESAMS. Although, there are several different methods to integrate SWCNTs into an optical fiber [2], the novel deposition of carbon nanotubes directly into the micro-groove has to be a robust and flexible way to increase the third order nonlinearity of the device.
