Abstract

Recent development of advanced micro-fabrication technologies allowed engineering of subwavelength diffraction gratings (SWGs) in order to provide near field processing in compact micro-devices or optical sensing. We propose and demonstrate experimentally the near field focusing in reflections from the periodic SWGs, which comprises a flat focusing mirror without any optical axis.
