Abstract
Whispering gallery mode (WGM) resonators are attractive cavities for integrated optical systems because of their small size, small mode volumes and high quality factors. These properties have been theoretically and experimentally studied for different devices including narrow bandwidth optical filters, laser resonators [1] and biochemical sensors. In such applications, the dynamic tunability of the resonators provides a high level of functionality of these devices.
