Abstract

In recent years, the coupling of a single quantum emitter with a plasmonic nanostructure has generated a growing interest leading to the field of quantum plasmonic. Individual Surface Plasmon Polaritons (SPPs) can be generated by single photon sources and locally controlled fluorescence enhancement can be achieved. For this purpose stable quantum emitters at room temperature and precise positioning are required. Experiments with a nano-diamond grafted at the apex of a near field scanning tip have been performed and launching of propagating surface plasmons has been observed [1].
