Abstract

The 1 to 10 terahertz (THz) spectral window, is nowadays crucial for plenty of every-day-life and scientific applications. Among these latter ones, high precision molecular spectroscopy and frequency metrology, requiring high-power and widely tunable continuous wave (CW) sources, play a central role. Indeed, the THz spectral region has been demonstrated to be a molecular fingerprint region, suitable for studies on earth atmosphere, astrophysical environments and for fundamental tests of QED molecular models [1].
