Abstract

The number of scientific applications at 2 μm range using femtosecond laser sources has been continuously growing during the last decade. As a few examples, we could highlight a high harmonic generation in gases [1] or in semiconductor crystals [2] as well as mid-IR supercontinuum generation [3]. Generally, the range of necessary pulse peak powers is varied from hundreds of kilowatts to gigawatts depending on targeted application [1-4]. For industrial applications, the exploration of ps or fs laser systems emitting in this spectral range is very promising and under an intense development [5].
