Abstract
The tunneling of waves, electrons, photons, and phonons incident on a periodic medium is limited to a certain distance, the Bragg length LB, due to the reflection arising from Bragg interference. While this perfect reflection by a crystal has enabled their application in solar cells [1] and optical memories [2], the limited tunnelling depth does not allow any functionalizing of periodic medium beyond a Bragg length.
