Spectral Thermal Band Gaps in the Near Field Heat Flux

Abstract

We demonstrate the opening and control of spectral band gaps in the near filed heat flux by means of surface plasmon-surface phonon polariton coupling in bilayer nanocavities made of semiconductors and dielectrics.
