Efficient diode-pumped crygenic Yb: YLF laser with 500 W cw output power from a single rod

Abstract

We present 500W cw output power from cryogenically cooled YbYLF laser in rod geometry by employing Ec axis for lasing. A wavelength shift from 995nm to 1019nm is observed and underlying physical mechanisms are discussed.
