Design of intra-cavity phase masks for high power flat-top Yb:YAG thin-disk cavities

Abstract

We report on simulations to design and implement graded-phase mirrors in YbYAG thin-disk cavities with a flat-top fundamental mode on the disk. Compared to fundamental Gaussian cavities, it could enable more efficient thin-disk laser systems.
