Ultrafast Electro-Optic Modulation in CdSe/CdS Quantum Dots by intense THz Pulses

Abstract

We demonstrate that through the quantum confined Stark effect a free-space, ultrafast THz signal can be directly encoded onto an optical signal probing the absorption of a film consisting of CdSeCdS quantum dots.
