Novel features of white light emission observed in transparent Cr-doped YAG ceramics

Abstract

Laser-induced white light emission was observed from transparent CrYAG ceramics on the surface of the sample and is not observed in volume. This phenomenon was discussed in terms of inter-valence charge transfer mechanism.
