Temperature Dynamics in Silicon Core Fibers during CO2-Laser Processing

Abstract

The as-drawn optical quality of silicon core optical fibers can be improved by CO_2-laser post-processing. Critical temperature dynamics in the fiber during laser processing are studied, in-situ and non-contact, using an interferometric technique.
