Poling Optical Fibers with Electrical Corona Discharge

Abstract

Electric field created by electrical corona discharge is used to pole silicate fibers. The method explores a different configuration to enhance optical poling. An electrooptic coefficient of 0.086pmV, and V of 702V is obtained.
