Terahertz pulse generation by laser-created, magnetized plasmas

Abstract

Relativistic interactions between a laser and strongly magnetized, underdense plasmas are able to produce high-intensity, few-cycle Cerenkov wake radiation in the Terahertz domain. 1D and 2D Particle-in-Cell simulations highlight the influence of various cyclotronplasma frequencies.
