1.5-W diode-pumped femtosecond Cr:ZnS amplifier

Abstract

We report the first CrZnS amplifier directly pumped by laser diodes, providing 1.5W of average output power with gain factor of 4.2 and the spectrum covering 2-2.6 m which supports a 40fs transform-limited pulse duration.
