Abstract

Optical transient detection (OTD) is an adaptive interferometric device that detects temporal changes while suppressing static background, improving contrast when measuring intensity and phase. A transient detection microscope was demonstrated by Cudney et al. [1], and most systems are based on photorefractive two-wave mixing [2] in the visible range and using continuous-wave lasers.
