Abstract
Organic-inorganic hybrid halide perovskites have gained a lot of attention for photonic applications, e.g., lasers, photovoltaics, light emitting diodes, photodetectors, etc. The materials are attractive as they have properties such as high carrier mobilities, high absorption coefficients, tunable bandgaps, and high diffusion lengths[1]. Hybrid halide perovskites have the general formula: ABX3, where A and B are monovalent and divalent metal cations, respectively, and X is a halide. Lead (Pb) based perovskites have been studied vastly however their applicability on a large scale is limited because of the toxicity and stability issues. Recent studies have shown that the newly emerging metal-free perovskites have shown promise for non-linear optics as they also possess ABX3 crystal structure, wide bandgap and high laser damage threshold[2]. In this work, we report the successful incorporation of aqueous-friendly Au NPs into the MDNI lattice by the newly introduced water bath deposition method and the enhancement of non-linear optical properties and broad band luminescence.
