Abstract

Ultrashort vector laser pulses, i.e., those whose polarization varies in time (and frequency), are useful in diverse scientific fields, as material science, biological and medical applications, etc. In consequence, robust, simple, and versatile characterization techniques are being demanded to measure those pulses. The technique amplitude swing, developed for scalar pulses [1, 2], satisfies these requirements: it has an inline setup, with common optical elements, and can be adapted to different pulse durations and central wavelengths. In this work, we study the suitability of amplitude swing to measure ultrashort vector pulses.
