Abstract

The demand for powerful ultrashort 1.3 µm pulses is getting much attention since telecommunication wavelengths (1.3–1.8 µm) were found to be effective for multi-photon microscopy. Recently, optical parametric amplifiers pumped by a powerful ytterbium fiber laser have been developed and used for multi-photon microscopy.
