Abstract
The SiN platform, developed at Warsaw University of Technology (WUT) [1], features transparency over a wide spectral range (from VIS to MIR) and is considered an attractive alternative to SOI and InP platforms, especially in the area of sensors and biomedical applications, new for PICs [2]. Investigated interfaces are being optimized for operation at visible spectral range (~ 600 nm) that is of particular interest for biosensing applications due to low photodamage to living cells, low water absorption, and high availability of fluorescent tracers.
