Ultra-High-Q substrate-mode coupled resonances in complementary THz metamaterial

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally and numerically a complementary metallic disk-hole array utilizing the coupling between lattice resonances and Fabry-Pérot resonances, and features in-substrate modes with experimentally obtained record breaking Q factors of ~750 in the THz.
