Nanophotonics Beyond Passivity Limitations Using Complex Frequency Excitations

Abstract

Non-monochromatic excitations oscillating at complex frequencies can overcome the limits imposed by passivity. We discuss a few examples in which this approach can be successfully implemented in nanophotonic platforms.
